 71 videos (exhibits one a day during the 71 days of the exhibition)

During the 71 days of the Volátil exhibition at the Brazilian Museum of Art (MAB), a different video was shown each day in a continuous loop. Each one began with the phrase “XX days until your departure...”, creating an emotional calendar that marked the passing of time within the show.

 

The videos functioned as pages from a farewell diary — intimate letters addressed to someone who is about to leave. This melancholic countdown introduced a sense of anticipated absence, revealing the inevitability of endings — whether of a presence, an exhibition, or a life cycle.

 

The work brought personal and collective experiences into tension, evoking a time suspended between waiting and loss. The daily repetition created a ritual, turning the museum into a space of quiet vigil, where time was measured not by dates but by affections in slow countdown.
