To think of the nose as a talisman is to shift a physiological, functional element into the symbolic and emotional realm. The nose is the gateway to smell, a sense deeply connected to memory, intuition, desire, and survival. Though rarely celebrated visually, it holds the invisible power to move through time, place, and emotion with a single breath.
By casting it in golden brass, I seek to heighten this transformation: turning the ordinary into the precious, the bodily into the spiritual. Even without releasing any scent, it holds the promise of aroma. Like a talisman, it does not need to act — its strength lies in what it represents, in what it evokes.
It is a condensed form of presence, a blend of absence and promise, body and symbol, memory and silence.
